What does the Bible say happens after death What happens after death

In Christianity, there are quite a few ideas regarding what happens after death. Some believe that after we die we “sleep” until the day of the judgement, where it will be decided according to a person’s deeds whether they will go to heaven or hell.

Some believe that right after we die,our souls are judged according to our deeds and right away we are sent either to heaven or hell.

And then there is this belief that after we die, our souls are kept in a temporary place until the final day comes.

So What does The Bible Say happens after death?

For those who believe in Jesus Christ, their souls are directly taken to the heaven because Jesus Christ has already paid the price for their sins. (John 3:16, 18, 36)

On the day of judgement they will be resurrected and will be given glorified bodies, (1 Corinthians 15:50-54 and 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17) and this glorified body will then reunite with the spirit, and it will last till eternity.

Now for those who do not believe in Jesus Christ, their souls are sent to hell not right after they die but their souls are kept in some temporary place until the day of judgement.

(Luke 16:22-23) tells about a man who is rich and when he dies he is immediately punished.

(Revelation 20:11-15) talks about the resurrection of the unbelievers and how they will be judged and sent to the fires of hell forever.

Conclusion:

Believers will ultimately go to heaven (Revelation 21:1) but for unbelievers there is no hope.(Revelation 20:11-15).
